Step 2 - Educate Your Patients About Active Release Techniques!

Build their confidence in this technique and in your abilities!

Just because you achieve excellent results with ART procedures does not mean that your patient will refer their family and close friends to you. They first have to trust you, and the only way they will trust you is if they understand what it is you are doing.

Informed patients will refer friends, colleagues, and family to you. Patients who understand how and why ART is so effective will always be a powerful referral source!

In today's information rich world, patients expect to understand what is being done, why its being done, and how results are being achieved. They need this information to TRUST the technique and its practitioner.

When patients understand…they TRUST. And when they trust …then, and only then, will they consider sending their valued friends, family, and colleagues to see you.

Much as we would like to, very few practitioners can spare the time required to sit down and have long, extended chats about the benefits of ART with all of their patients.

Not to worry…you can keep your patients informed…without sacrificing all your time! We do this all the time at our clinic, by using the following very effective procedure. (And yes…it works, in fact, it works so well that you may well have to take on more Associates to keep up with your patient load. We did!)

Here's what we do!

  1. We give each NEW patient a complimentary copy of the book Release Your Pain. This book is an extremely powerful tool for educating patients about the benefits of ART!
Encourage them to read this book!
    • The book's easy-to-read format and language leads them logically through the causes and problems of RSI injuries, cumulative trauma, and how ART works to resolve these.
    • Real case studies help them to see how similar injuries were treated with ART.
    • Beautifully illustrated diagrams help them to visualize exactly which soft-tissue structures are being treated and why!
    • Exercises at the end of each chapter help them to work with you in preventing these conditions from re-occurring!
  2. With each complimentary copy of the book, include the cover letter that we have attached to this e-mail. Open this cover letter, and review it now. This letter is an elegant overview to ART, it lists many of the conditions that you can help to resolve with ART, and reminds your patient about all the benefits they receive by seeing you!
  3. At their next appointment, ASK THEM if they have any questions after reading the book! Now that they are already informed about the technique, and its benefits, their questions will be more specific, and much less time-consuming for you to answer! Your answers, in conjunction with the information in Release Your Pain, will increase their TRUST in ART and in what you do for them!

Best of all your patients will now be able to explain to their friends and family just what ART is, and why it is so effective. And they can share this book with anyone who asks questions, again spreading the word about your practice!

But…do not ask for referrals at this time!

You are still building trust!

Stay tuned though…for the ideal time to ask for patient referrals.

Try these steps out , encourage your patients to read Release Your Pain, and help them to understand the power of ART. Watch your referral base GROW as they learn to TRUST both you and Active Release Techniques, and as they talk about their discoveries with their friends!Wishing you all the best in your practice!
